Water level relay for a tank with heating protection - Tense SSR-09

Product description

The SSR-09 relay from Tense is a modern device for automatic water level control in boilers, storage tanks and water heaters.
It ensures a reliable water supply , timely pump shutdown and, above all, effective dry-run protection for the electric heating element .

The device uses capacitive electrodes to monitor the water level and automatically controls the pump and heating system according to the current situation in the tank.

The most important advantages

  • Dry-run protection for both the boiler and the heater - extends the service life of the devices.

  • Automatic water level control : The pump switches on when the water level is low and switches off when it reaches the upper limit.

  • Heating protection - if there is no water in the heating system, the device immediately cuts off the power supply.

  • LED display of pump and heating operation for easy status monitoring.

  • Easy installation - mounting on DIN rail, clear screw terminals.

  • Compact dimensions, low power consumption.

  • Wide operating voltage range of 170-260 VAC - stable operation even with current fluctuations.

Operating principle

The SSR-09 works with two electrodes located in the tank:

  1. Lower electrode (min. fill level)

    • If the water level drops below this electrode, the relay activates the pump and begins pumping water.

  2. The upper electrode (max. fill level)

    • When the upper level is reached, the relay automatically switches off the pump.

  3. Protective electrode on the heating element

    • If there is no water in the heating element, the relay interrupts the power supply to the heating element and prevents overheating.

This intelligent logic ensures safe and economical operation of the entire system.

Use of

  • electric boilers and water heaters

  • Heating systems with buffer storage

  • Water storage for households and industry

  • Waterworks and pumping systems

  • Drinking and process water storage

Installation and connection

  • Mounting on standard DIN rail in the control cabinet.

  • Connection via screw terminals .

  • The electrodes must be installed in the containers at the required heights.

  • For stable operation, the manufacturer recommends the use of conductors with a cross-section of at least 2.5 mm² .

Note: The electrodes (level probes) are not included and must be ordered separately.
