About the device

The RGT-MT18 is an 18-stage, three-phase, SVC-compatible (TCR ) reactive power compensation controller with touchscreen.

• It is used for reactive power compensation (inductive and capacitive).

• If the inductive reactive power originates from the grid, the controller switches on capacitors.

• If the capacitive reactive power comes from the grid, the controller switches on a shunt choke.

• The goal is to reduce the ratio between inductive and capacitive energy, as well as active and reactive energy, in the system.

• It enables effective step compensation for asymmetrical systems.

What is an SVC (TCR)?

SVC - Static VAR Compensation is a static reactive power compensation system that uses thyristor-controlled chokes to compensate for the capacitive power in the system evenly and quickly.
