TENSE phase protection relay - adjustable asymmetry 5-50%

The phase protection relay from TENSE (Turkey) is designed to protect three-phase electric motors and other three-phase devices from faults in the power supply network. The device checks for correct phase sequence , phase asymmetry , undervoltage , and overvoltage , and ensures safe load disconnection if preset limits are exceeded.

Thanks to its wide adjustment range, the relay is suitable for most industrial and commercial applications, especially where precise and stable motor protection is required.

Operating principles

Normal operation

If all phase voltages are within the limit values ​​and the phase sequence is correct:

• the relay is triggered,

• The LED OUT lights up.

High-voltage fault (H)

• If the phase exceeds the set limit → Err-In time is due, H is displayed.

• The relay switches off, OUT goes out.

• If the voltage drops below the set value (5V), Err OUT starts running and the relay switches on again.

Undervoltage fault (L)

• If the set limit drops below the set threshold, Err In waits, L is displayed.

• The relay switches off.

• If the voltage rises 5V above the limit → Err OUT waits, the relay engages.

Phase asymmetry (Asy)

• If the voltage difference between the phases exceeds the set threshold (5-50%):

  • ASy displays Err In after a certain time, and the relay is deactivated.

• If the asymmetry falls below (set threshold - 2%) → waiting time Err OUT , the relay switches on.

Phase sequence errors (pHs)

• If a phase sequence error occurs, the relay waits for Err In and then displays pHs .

• The relay switches off and remains switched off until the correct sequence is restored.

• After the phase sequence has been corrected, Err OUT appears and the relay switches on.
